Sydney Suva Triumphs at Sanatan World Cup: A Night of Glory and Surprises!

Sydney Suva triumphed over Labasa with a 2-0 victory in a thrilling final of the Rams Group of Companies 10th Sanatan World Cup. Young talent Marcus Lal got Suva on the scoreboard early in the match, although he later missed a penalty opportunity.

Despite efforts from brothers Anish Khem and Ashnil Raju to bring Labasa back into contention, Sydney’s defense, led by goalkeeper Jerome Narayan and defenders Krishneel Dutt and Kishan Sami, held strong. The match was clinched by former Nadi striker Shivneel Pillay, who delivered a brilliant finish midway through the second half. Labasa’s challenge was further hampered when Melvin Mani was sent off, leaving them with only ten players on the field.

In individual accolades, Narayan received the Golden Glove award, while Lal took home the Golden Boot for scoring seven goals throughout the tournament. Pranit Singh was honored as the Most Valuable Player, and Sydney Suva was recognized as the Best Disciplined Team.
