Sydney Suva has secured its place in the semifinals of the Rams Group of Companies Sanatan World Cup by defeating New Zealand Sanatan 2-1 in their quarterfinal match, which went into extra time.
Pranesh Goundar scored early for the home team, but New Zealand Sanatan equalized courtesy of Issac Kumar late in the second half, pushing the match into extra time. Replacement player Lachlan Lal ultimately netted the winning goal for the Sydney Suva team, which is coached by Sanjeev Singh and managed by Nick Sharma and Moshin Nabi.
