Sydney Suva has secured its place in the semifinals of the Rams Group of Companies Sanatan World Cup after defeating New Zealand Sanatan 2-1 in an intense quarterfinal match that went into extra time.

Pranesh Goundar opened the scoring for the local team, giving them an early advantage. However, New Zealand Sanatan equalized late in the second half when Issac Kumar found the back of the net, pushing the match into extra time.

In the extra period, Lachlan Lal, who came on as a substitute, scored the decisive goal for the team coached by Sanjeev Singh, with management by Nick Sharma and Moshin Nabi.
