Suva Swifts IGA have claimed the title of champions in the 2024 Finance Hub Super League after defeating Lautoka Stars 69-35 at the FNU Gymnasium in Nasinu on Saturday. The Swifts showcased impressive strength and determination, outpacing their Western rivals who struggled to keep up with the high level of performance exhibited by the Swifts team.
From the beginning to the end, both teams put forth commendable efforts. However, as the match progressed into the final quarter, it became evident that victory was destined for the Suva Swifts.
In other matches, the Baby Pearls Kikau team achieved a decisive 61-28 victory against the Nadroga Stallions. Maintaining a lead from the first quarter, the Kikau team concluded the match with a significant 33-point advantage, securing their position in fifth place.
Additionally, the Tailevu Doves secured a 30-20 win over the Nadi Netball team, which placed them in seventh position following their victory. After the match, Doves president Seini Soroacagi expressed that the win would motivate the team to enhance their preparation for the upcoming year’s competition.
While the women’s teams competed for victory, the national men’s netball teams also showcased their talents in a curtain-raiser event prior to the final between Suva Swifts IGA and Lautoka Stars.
