Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old businessman operating a bakery called Three T’s in Naruwai, Dama, Bua, has highlighted the significance of community for local business development. He noted that over the last month, his bakery has thrived, reflecting strong demand from residents in the nearby Dama area, leading to increased sales.
The bakery not only provides essential goods but also aims to support local households with job opportunities, particularly for those who may have previously struggled to find work. Loga expressed that their bakery serves as a vital resource for around 130 families in the area, facilitating access to baked goods from as far as 200 kilometers away.
In the past three weeks, Loga has observed a consistent increase in business activity, which he attributes primarily to community purchases. The bakery offers a range of products, including cream buns, cheese buns, pizza, and coconut rolls, addressing the needs of local residents.
Loga emphasized that the success of their business is a collaborative effort among the community and is optimistic about continued growth in response to local demand. He urged the youth and local communities to remain engaged and innovative, especially during challenging times, ensuring they remain resilient and proactive in enhancing their livelihoods.
The bakery’s efforts contribute positively to the local economy, providing critical goods and employment, ultimately benefiting the entire community of Dama and the surrounding areas.
