The Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) has entered into a new partnership with NEWWORLD IGA, aimed at enhancing its Loyalty Program that supports farmers across Fiji. SCGF CEO Raj Sharma expressed excitement about NEWWORLD IGA’s involvement, which he believes will significantly benefit the over 10,260 registered growers by offering them improved access to essential goods.
Sharma noted that NEWWORLD IGA’s strategic supermarket locations within cane belt areas add remarkable value to the Loyalty Program. The program, which has already issued 1,150 loyalty cards since its launch, includes partnerships with 14 businesses across various sectors, such as healthcare, hardware, and telecommunications, to deliver a broad range of benefits to growers.
In a positive development, the deadline for fee-free loyalty card offers has been extended from the original March 31, 2025, to June 30, 2025. This newly extended deadline allows growers to continue enjoying the perks of free membership before nominal fees are implemented for cardholders after the deadline.
Sameer Patel, head of merchandise, marketing, and wholesale at NEWWORLD IGA, emphasized the significance of their collaboration with SCGF, which directly supports the welfare of farmers who play a vital role in Fiji’s economy.
This partnership can positively impact the agricultural community, enhancing sustainability while fostering better access to essential services that can improve growers’ livelihoods. By providing advantageous affiliations with numerous service providers, SCGF and its partners are paving the way for improved economic resilience among sugar cane farmers in Fiji.
Overall, the collaborative efforts embodied in the SCGF Loyalty Program highlight the commitment to fostering a supportive and resourceful environment for farmers in their essential work.
