Sweet Collaboration: Fiji’s Sugar Industry Embraces Innovation

The Sugar Research Institute of Fiji (SRIF) has taken a proactive step by formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Fiji, marking a collaborative effort aimed at bolstering research, innovation, and capacity-building within the nation’s sugar industry. SRIF CEO Vinesh Kumar emphasized the need for the industry to adapt alongside scientific advancements, ensuring its competitiveness and sustainability—a sector that has played a pivotal role in Fiji’s economy for more than a century, supporting countless jobs.
