SVC Teacher Triumphs in National Hindi Essay Contest!

Arti Renuka Mani, a Hindi language teacher at Swami Vivekananda College (SVC), has achieved first place in the National Hindi Essay Writing Competition 2024. This event was organized by the Fiji Hindu Society in partnership with the High Commission of India, in celebration of Hindi Diwas to promote the appreciation of Hindi language and culture.

The competition attracted participants from all over Fiji, who competed in three categories: Primary School, Secondary School, and Open Category (for those aged 18 and above). Ms. Mani, a dedicated supporter of the Hindi language, expressed her pride in her achievement, emphasizing the importance of Hindi as part of their identity. She received a cash prize of $200, along with Hindi cultural books and a USB drive.

In addition, Shriya Mala, a Year 12 student from SVC, secured third place in the secondary school category, earning a $100 prize. These accomplishments underscore SVC’s commitment to fostering and preserving the Hindi language among its students.

Geeta Krishna, the vice principal of SVC, commended the winners and highlighted the pride the school community takes in their achievements, stating that they continue to promote the use of Hindi across generations.
