SVC Teacher Tops National Hindi Essay Contest!

Arti Renuka Mani, a Hindi teacher at Swami Vivekananda College (SVC), achieved first place in the National Hindi Essay Writing Competition 2024. This event was organized by the Fiji Hindu Society in partnership with the High Commission of India to commemorate Hindi Diwas and promote the appreciation of the Hindi language and culture.

The competition saw participants from all over Fiji competing in three categories: Primary School, Secondary School, and an Open Category for individuals aged 18 and above.

Mani, who is a dedicated advocate for the Hindi language, expressed her pride in winning, emphasizing the importance of preserving their mother tongue. She received $200 in cash, along with Hindi cultural books and a USB drive as prizes.

In addition, Shriya Mala, a Year 12 student from SVC, secured third place in the secondary school category, earning a $100 award.

These accomplishments showcase SVC’s commitment to promoting and preserving the Hindi language among students. The vice principal of SVC, Geeta Krishna, commended the winners, highlighting the school community’s pride in their achievements and their ongoing efforts to encourage the use and promotion of Hindi for future generations.
