The Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) has announced that trials for the upcoming 2025 Fiji Volleyball Federation’s club championships have been postponed to tomorrow due to poor weather conditions experienced on January 8. The rescheduling was communicated via the SVA’s official Facebook page.

The trials will now take place in three separate sessions, giving players from ten selected clubs the chance to showcase their talents. The first session for men’s players is set for January 11 from 7:30 AM to 9 AM at the USP Gym in Laucala Bay, Suva. This will be followed by a women’s session from 9:30 AM to 12 PM at the same venue. In the evening, another men’s session will occur from 5 PM to 7 PM at Hall A of the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Participating clubs include the Tamavua Bulls, USP, Naiqasiqasi Brothers, Avengers, Redline, Hanua Heat, Vision, Dateline Titans, Moskoi, and the Marines. The SVA has emphasized the importance of attendance at these trials, as only players present will be eligible for selection to represent the association in future competitions.

These trials not only provide an opportunity for players to display their skills but also highlight the burgeoning competitive spirit within the volleyball community in Fiji. As similar events in the past have shown, such initiatives are crucial for the development of local talent and the overall growth of the sport in the region.

Overall, this gathering of dedicated athletes showcases the vibrancy of volleyball in Suva and sets a hopeful tone for the future of the sport in Fiji. With enthusiastic participants eager to prove themselves, these trials are a stepping stone towards greater competitiveness and success in volleyball.
