The Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) has announced the postponement of trials for the upcoming 2025 Fiji Volleyball Federation’s club championships to tomorrow due to adverse weather conditions encountered on January 8. The change was communicated through the SVA’s official Facebook page.

The trials will now take place in three separate sessions, allowing players from ten selected clubs to showcase their skills. The first session for men’s players is scheduled for January 11 from 7:30 AM to 9 AM at the USP Gym in Laucala Bay, Suva. Following the men’s trials, the women’s session will occur from 9:30 AM to 12 PM in the same venue. The day will conclude with another men’s session scheduled from 5 PM to 7 PM at Hall A of the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

Players from clubs including the Tamavua Bulls, USP, Naiqasiqasi Brothers, Avengers, Redline, Hanua Heat, Vision, Dateline Titans, Moskoi, and the Marines have been selected to participate in the trials. The SVA has emphasized the importance of attendance, as only players present at the trials will be considered for selection to represent the association in the upcoming competitions.

The trials represent a significant opportunity for participants not only to demonstrate their skills but also to contribute to the growth and competitiveness of volleyball in Fiji. As noted in previous announcements, there is a strong emphasis on developing talent within the community, with similar initiatives highlighting the importance of these events in fostering future stars in women’s sports.

Overall, these trials reflect the dedication of both the players and the SVA, showcasing a vibrant spirit in Suva’s volleyball community and paving the way for a promising competitive future in Fiji’s volleyball scene.
