Ten-man Suva managed to secure a victory over Lautoka in a thrilling Round 17 match of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Churchill Park today.
The pivotal moment came early in the game when Ni-Vanuatu player Joe Moses scored, giving the Flick Hygiene-sponsored Suva team the lead.
Lautoka had an opportunity to equalize towards the end of the match when Joeli Ranitu received a second yellow card for a foul in the penalty area, resulting in his ejection from the game.
Despite the pressure, Sairusi Nalaubu’s penalty attempt was expertly saved by Suva’s goalkeeper and captain, Akuila Mateisuva.
Following this match, Suva stands at 22 points, placing them seventh on the league table, while Lautoka remains third with 28 points.
