Suva is facing injury challenges as they gear up for their final pool match against Taveuni at the primary schools inter-district competition taking place in Labasa. Coach Mohammed Hussain emphasized the significance of focusing on their backup goalkeeper to boost their chances of winning the upcoming match.
“Our goalkeeper is injured,” Hussain stated. Despite the difficulties, he expressed confidence that the team will qualify for the finals. “We will come back stronger in our next game against Taveuni,” he said.
In a recent interview, Hussain noted the need to improve their defensive strategies, acknowledging it as a weakness in their previous matches at the tournament. “We will go back to the drawing board to analyze our last games and identify areas for improvement,” he remarked.
He also mentioned that the shifting weather conditions have had an impact on the players’ performance. “The boys are trying to adapt to the Babasiga heat,” he added. In their most recent match against Navua, Suva achieved a slim 1-0 victory, while they drew 1-1 against Labasa.
