The Suva Volleyball Association (SVA) has officially kicked off its 2025 season, featuring exciting round-robin games and knockout rounds in beach volleyball leading to the highly anticipated Inter Club Fiji volleyball tournament. Taking place at the LICI Courts in Laucala Bay, Suva, the recent week nine club games saw participation from over 30 teams, comprised of 20 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams.

This year’s competition is particularly significant as it serves as a qualifier for the Inter Club Fiji tournament. The top four teams from both the men’s and women’s divisions will earn the honor of representing Suva. With the first knockout rounds already underway, Jone Baleilomaloma, the games commissioner for Suva volleyball, conveyed his enthusiasm about the season’s start. He noted, “These games will help us identify the top four teams in each category and prepare our clubs for the much-anticipated Inter Club Fiji tournament.”

As the knockout rounds kick off, the leading contenders in the men’s division include Avengers 1, Red Line Bounty Rum, Avengers 2, and Naiqasiqasi Brothers, while the women’s division is led by Phoenix, USP, Hanua 1, and Moskoi. Baleilomaloma emphasized the importance of providing ample game time for clubs, stating, “It’s vital to give teams ample game time for the bigger challenges ahead.”
