Suva has introduced an innovative digital parking solution aimed at modernizing street parking and enhancing urban services. The newly launched app, Bula Parki, enables users to pay for parking without cash and allows for easy top-ups of parking credits via mobile wallets.

Tevita Boseiwaqa, Chair of the Suva City Council, emphasized that the app includes notifications alerting users before their parking time expires, providing a solution to help avoid potential fines. He pointed out that the transition from traditional parking meters is essential due to the issue of non-functioning meters brought on by shortages of spare parts.

Boseiwaqa further highlighted that this app is a significant step towards Suva’s vision of becoming a smart city, focusing on digitalization and improved service delivery. Dineshwar Lal, Managing Director of D2UNET, remarked that Bula Parki is poised to address parking challenges throughout Suva effectively.

The City Council considers this launch a proud achievement for residents, commuters, and stakeholders alike. Boseiwaqa noted that the initiative sets a new standard for urban services, not only in Fiji but also across the Pacific region, paving the way for more efficient and user-friendly urban infrastructure.
