Tomasi Rabukutoka has observed significant positive transformations in his two grandsons since they began their taekwondo journey earlier this year. Notably, he has identified improvements in their behavior and moral conduct as they embrace the values of the martial art.
Just weeks into the program, both boys exhibited remarkable characteristics such as discipline and respect. They are currently immersed in a four-day summer camp at Rewa Street in Suva, guided by Grand Master Andy Rutten. This enriching experience has not only enhanced their physical abilities but has also instilled a strong sense of responsibility.
Rabukutoka has noted that the boys have adopted a structured routine, which includes waking up early, making their beds, and assisting with household chores. He expressed his pride, stating, “I’ve seen a lot of improvement, especially with discipline. Every day now they wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, fold their blankets and ask if there’s anything we want them to do around the house. They’ve also been very obedient to all of us at home, and it is something nice to see because they hardly behave this way at home.”
The camp, which commenced on Monday, has attracted over 50 eager participants, starting from the age of five, further highlighting the widespread interest and benefits of martial arts in fostering discipline and respect among youth. The program is set to conclude tomorrow, leaving lasting impressions on the young participants and their families.
