Suva Swifts Crowned Champions in Dominant Super League Finale

Suva Swifts IGA claimed the title of champions in the 2024 Finance Hub Super League after defeating Lautoka Stars with a decisive score of 69-35 at the FNU Gymnasium in Nasinu on Saturday.

The Swifts showcased an impressive display of strength and skill, overwhelming their opponents from the West, who struggled to keep up with the Swifts’ dominant performance. From the outset of the match, both teams exhibited determination, but as the game progressed into the final quarter, it became increasingly clear that the Swifts were on their way to securing victory.

In other matches, the Baby Pearls Kikau team achieved a notable victory over the Nadroga Stallions, winning 61-28. The Kikau team maintained their lead from the first quarter, concluding the match with a 33-point advantage, which positions them in fifth place in the standings.

Additionally, the Tailevu Doves triumphed over the Nadi Netball team with a score of 30-20, earning them seventh place in the league following their win. After the match, Doves president Seini Soroacagi expressed that this victory would motivate the team to intensify their preparations for next year’s competition.

While the women’s teams fiercely competed for the championship, the national men’s netball teams were also showcased in a curtain-raiser prior to the final match between Suva Swifts IGA and Lautoka Stars.
