Flick Hygiene Suva FC secured a narrow 3-2 victory against Nasinu in round 14 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at the Uprising Center in Pacific Harbour.
Suva started strong, with Joe Moses netting a goal in the ninth minute, followed by Ramzan Khan scoring in the 28th minute, which gave them a 2-0 lead at half-time. However, Nasinu made a comeback in the second half, with Jone Naraba scoring in the 39th minute and Ryan Chandra adding another, leveling the game at 2-2.
As the match progressed, Moses stepped up again, scoring the decisive goal for Suva, clinching the 3-2 win.
Suva’s coach, Babs Khan, commended his team’s efforts in what he called a fiercely contested match. He noted some uneven moments in the first half but expressed pride in the overall performance and praised the defense’s resilience throughout the encounter.
“It was a great and tightly contested match. Nasinu came to win just as our team did,” Khan remarked. He acknowledged their first-half struggles, especially in finishing, but he emphasized his pride in the players’ performance and their composure, particularly in defense.
Khan stressed the need for improvement in finishing and maintaining composure for future matches. Looking ahead, he expressed confidence in the team’s gradual improvement and encouraged continued hard work to build on their success in preparation for the upcoming round 15 fixtures.
He also thanked the loyal Suva supporters for their steadfast encouragement and expressed appreciation for the ongoing support from Flick Hygiene.
In a separate match, Tailevu Naitasiri managed to draw 1-1 with Labasa at Subrail Park, with France Catarogo scoring for the visitors and Akeimi Ralulu equalizing for the hosts.
