Suva Secures Automatic Qualification for 2024 Battle of the Giants

Suva has automatically qualified for the 2024 Battle of the Giants tournament, set to be held at the HFC Stadium later this month, despite being in ninth place in the Digicel Premier League standings.

This entry is granted because they are the host team, which takes precedence over their league position.

Meanwhile, Nasinu and Tailevu Naitasiri will not participate in the tournament. Although Nasinu moved up to eighth place after their recent 1-0 victory over Ba in Round 12, they did not make the tournament cut.

The eight teams that have qualified for the Battle of the Giants are: Rewa and Labasa, both leading with 27 points, followed by Lautoka (19 points), Ba and Nadi (18 points each), Navua (17 points), Nadroga (14 points), and host Suva (9 points).

The official pool draw for the tournament is scheduled for later this week, with the group stages occurring from July 26-28. The knockout stages will take place a week later, all at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
