The Suva Rugby Union’s 2024 season has been characterized by challenges and notable successes. While the team faced disappointment in the Farebrother Sullivan Trophy challenge and suffered a loss to Nadroga in the Skipper Cup final, they celebrated a major milestone with the acquisition of new land for a dedicated rugby ground.

Nemani Tuifagalele, the union’s secretary, expressed a positive outlook on the season, emphasizing the remarkable performance of the Suva Women’s team as a highlight. He acknowledged that club rugby serves as a vital foundation for the growth of the Suva Provincial side and believes that interest in these games will continue to rise in the upcoming year.

The most significant achievement came with the successful acquisition of land, a strategic step that is expected to enhance the development of rugby in Suva. With an eye on the future, the Suva Rugby Union is optimistic about a strong and promising season in 2025.

This season, despite its challenges, reflects the resilience and commitment of the Suva Rugby Union to enhance the sport in their region. The new facilities will likely provide better training opportunities, fostering the growth of local talent and bringing the community together.

As the organization looks forward to 2025, there is a sense of hope and determination to build on this year’s experiences and further elevate the status of rugby in Suva.
