Suva Netball Excitement: Girls Catch Attention

The NewWorld Suva Netball Association’s weekly competition has reached its seventh round, with certain teams standing out for their impressive performances.

Former national netball representative Vasiti Vugakoto has expressed her admiration for the girls’ performances in the competition. She believes that the development of Suva netball is crucial for selecting future Fiji Pearls players.

Vugakoto’s own club, Lomaiviti, is the largest in the competition, comprising 17 clubs and 220 members. As the president of her club, she is committed not only to winning the competition but also to teaching the girls the sport so they can potentially represent Fiji in the future.

“The competition this year has been tough, with many girls from different teams showing significant improvement and dedication to the sport,” said Vugakoto.

She emphasizes the importance of nurturing young talent and providing opportunities for players to showcase their skills, especially with the U21 players also participating in the competition.

“Suva Netball has a history of producing future Fiji Pearls players, and this year I am excited to see the under 21 players getting a chance to show their talent.”

Vugakoto is optimistic about the competition and hopes that all teams will compete with good sportsmanship.
