Suva Grammar School secured the Vodafone Deans U16 Finals title with a decisive 29-12 victory over Lelean Memorial School during an exciting match at the HFC Bank Stadium.
SGS established an early lead by scoring a converted try in the first quarter. LMS quickly responded by leveling the score with a converted try of their own. However, SGS reclaimed the advantage with another try in the 16th minute, leading 12-7. By halftime, SGS had increased their lead to 19-7 with a skillful try and conversion.
In the second half, SGS maintained their dominance, even though one of their tries was disallowed. They pressed on, adding another try to extend their lead to 24-7. LMS scored again, narrowing the gap to 24-12, but SGS clinched the match with a final try and conversion in the closing minutes, finishing with a score of 29-12.
