The Suva Grammar School under-16 rugby team’s victory over Marist Brothers High School with a score of 21-5 has set the stage for their preparation ahead of the national quarter-finals in the Vodafone Deans competition. Team manager Ana Leano expressed confidence in their ability to improve on specific areas identified during the match.

Following their trophy presentation at Buckhurst Park in Suva on July 26, Leano indicated that the coaching staff has pinpointed key areas which will be addressed in training. “We will just continue to work on areas; our coaches know what they must focus on,” she remarked, emphasizing the team’s readiness to support each other through this rigorous process.

Leano also acknowledged the strengths of their opponents, Marist Brothers, who also secured a spot in the national quarter-finals. She expressed gratitude for the competitive spirit exhibited and remarked on the commendable effort shown by her team, particularly in their second half of the game at Bidesi Park.

The under-16 team’s achievements echo the accolades of their older counterparts, including the under-17 and under-18 teams, who have also shown great promise in the Vodafone Deans competition.
