Suva Grammar School is determined to claim the title in the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Vodafone Super Deans under-15 grand final on Saturday. The Lions will compete against their rivals, Marist Brothers High School, as they vie for the top prize in the U15 category.
Last weekend, Grammar secured their place in the finals by defeating Queen Victoria School with a score of 35-21. The team is focused on achieving their goal. Ethelwne Mariana, the U15 team manager, stated, “We don’t want to say too much but we will get what we are coming for.”
However, the task ahead will be challenging, as Marist is the reigning champion in this grade. Mariana added, “Our message to the boys is just to go in there, do their best and let God do the rest.”
Suva Grammar is also represented in the finals by its U16 team, enjoying robust support from their school community. Mariana expressed pride in the team’s journey, saying, “As one of the two baby teams of the school, I can say that we are on par with making our school proud. The semi-final win was achieved through the grace of God, the support of the school, parents, and old scholars.”
The finals are set to take place at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday.
