Suva Futsal concluded the 2024 season in spectacular fashion by successfully defending their title at the Extra Supermarket Inter-District Championship, triumphing over Lautoka with a convincing 6-2 victory in the final held at Vodafone Arena.
This victory, along with their earlier success in the Futsal League, solidifies Suva’s status as the premier futsal team in the nation. Key players contributing to the win were Krishneel Singh and Aman Naidu, both scoring a double, while Deepal Singh and Justin Kumar each added a goal to the tally. Despite the defeat, Lautoka’s Aporosa Yada shone brightly, scoring both of their goals and finishing the tournament as the top scorer with an impressive total of 13 goals.
Head Coach Vivek Nadan expressed his happiness with the team’s performance, particularly after experiencing a setback in pool play against Ba. He acknowledged that the earlier loss was ultimately beneficial, as it allowed the team to regroup and focus on the elimination rounds. “We told the boys it was better to lose a match in pool play rather than the eliminations and go out,” Nadan reflected, highlighting the resilience of his squad throughout the tournament.
In the women’s division, Rewa Futsal celebrated their clinching of the Women’s Futsal IDC title through overall points.

In the women’s category, Nasinu Futsal received the Fair Play Award, Adi Litia Bakaniceva of Rewa Futsal was named Golden Boot Winner, Maria Veronika secured the Golden Ball, and Emily Esposita received the Golden Glove award. For the men’s category, Lautoka Futsal was honored with the Fair Play Award, Aporosa Yada took home the Golden Boot, while Nikil Chand of Suva Futsal won the Golden Ball, and Kitione Baleloa from Suva was awarded the Golden Glove.
