Suva FC coach Babs Khan reflected on the team’s 1-1 draw against Labasa in the Extra Premier League, acknowledging the challenge they faced due to several key players being unavailable. These absences were attributed to national duty commitments with the Fiji Futsal team and participation in the Police Inter-District Championship. As a result, Suva fielded a team comprising younger players and others who played out of their usual positions.

This match was Khan’s first back with the Suva team, and he, along with assistant coach Pita Rabo, is looking toward the Inter-District Championship (IDC) in October as their main focus. Khan emphasized the importance of the upcoming games in this preparation, stating they will continue to build towards IDC. Despite the draw, Khan expressed a positive outlook, planning to analyze match videos to form a strategy for the team’s progression.

Looking ahead, Suva is set to face the reigning champions Rewa this Sunday at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori. This encounter is part of their continued efforts to refine their gameplay and ensure a strong showing in the IDC.

Suva’s commitment to improving their team dynamic and preparing for future competitions shows the resilience and adaptability required in competitive sports. Fans can remain hopeful as the team works to overcome current challenges and leverage every opportunity to build a cohesive and competitive squad. The club’s efforts are likely to yield positive results and further strengthen its presence in the league.
