Suva showcased their dominance in the Vodafone Kaji Rugby Championship, which wrapped up at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. The Capital City team proudly secured the Boys titles in both the Under-13 and Under-14 divisions.
In the Under-13 category, Suva achieved a decisive 15-0 victory against Ovalau, while their Under-14 teammates delivered an impressive performance, defeating Ra 14-0.
On the girls’ side, Vanua Levu emerged as the champions in both age groups. Cakaudrove claimed the Under-14 Kajiana girls title with a solid 12-0 win over Taveuni, while Taveuni triumphed in the Under-13 division.
The three-day tournament saw participation from 17 districts, who competed fiercely in the U13 and U14 categories, emphasizing the grassroots talent and passion for rugby in Fiji.
This championship not only highlights Suva’s strength in rugby but also showcases the growing competitiveness among other districts, particularly in women’s rugby, which is gaining prominence and support. It is a promising sign for the future of the sport in the region, as more teams and players emerge, contributing to the development of rugby in Fiji.
