Suva emerged as the dominant force in the Vodafone Kaji Rugby Championship, which wrapped up at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. The Capital City team secured the Boys titles in both the Under-13 and Under-14 categories, showcasing their talent and cohesion.
In the Under-13 division, Suva achieved a resounding 15-0 victory against Ovalau, while the Under-14 team followed suit with a commanding 14-0 win over Ra. This demonstrates Suva’s strength in youth rugby, laying a solid foundation for future success in the sport.
On the girls’ side, teams from Vanua Levu claimed the titles in both age groups. Cakaudrove triumphed in the Under-14 Kajiana girls division with a 12-0 win against Taveuni, while Taveuni secured the Under-13 title.
The three-day event saw participation from 17 districts competing in the U13 and U14 grades, highlighting the vibrant interest and dedication to rugby among young athletes in the region.
This championship not only celebrates the achievements of the winning teams but also emphasizes the importance of youth sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and a sense of community.
