Suva emerged victorious in the Vodafone Kaji Rugby Championship, which wrapped up yesterday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. The Capital City team dominated the Boys competition, securing titles in both the Under-13 and Under-14 categories.
In the U13 division, Suva achieved a convincing 15-0 victory over Ovalau, while the U14 team showcased their prowess by defeating Ra with a score of 14-0.
On the girls’ side, the titles in both grades were claimed by teams from Vanua Levu. Cakaudrove clinched the U14 Kajiana girls title with a 12-0 win against Taveuni, while Taveuni claimed the U13 title, demonstrating strong performances throughout the tournament.
The three-day event saw participation from 17 districts, highlighting the growing interest and talent in youth rugby across the region.
This year’s championship not only showcased the skills of young athletes but also fostered community spirit and sportsmanship. The competition serves as a promising platform for the future of rugby in Fiji, encouraging youth engagement in sports and nurturing the next generation of talent.
