Suva showcased its dominance in the Vodafone Kaji Rugby Championship, which concluded yesterday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. The team emerged victorious in the Boys categories, winning both the Under-13 and Under-14 titles. The U13 squad decisively defeated Ovalau with a score of 15-0, while the U14 team secured a solid 14-0 victory against Ra.

On the girls’ side, teams from Vanua Levu clinched the titles in both age groups. Cakaudrove triumphed in the U14 girls’ competition, defeating Taveuni 12-0, while Taveuni claimed the U13 girls’ title.

The championship spanned three days and featured participation from 17 districts, highlighting the vibrant youth rugby culture in the region.

This year’s events not only showcased exceptional talent among the young athletes but also brought communities together, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie. The spirited competition promises a bright future for rugby in Fiji, as these young players continue to develop their skills and passion for the sport.
