The poor condition of the roads at the Suva Bus Stand has raised alarms among both pedestrians and bus operators. With the rising number of potholes, navigating the area has become increasingly challenging, particularly during peak traffic times.

In light of these concerns, the Suva City Council (SCC) has communicated that road repairs are a foremost priority. Acting Chief Executive Officer Tevita Boseiwaqa stated that the council is actively collaborating with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to tackle this pressing issue.

“We are treating this as a priority,” Mr. Boseiwaqa affirmed, reassuring the public. He noted that the recent wet weather has significantly exacerbated the road conditions, making it difficult to initiate repairs. However, he promised that as soon as the weather improves, repair work will commence promptly.

This commitment from the Suva City Council reflects a proactive approach towards maintaining crucial infrastructure, ensuring that both bus operators and pedestrians will soon benefit from improved road conditions.

Summary: The Suva Bus Stand is facing challenges due to deteriorating road conditions, particularly concerning for bus operators and pedestrians. The Suva City Council is prioritizing road repairs and is in active discussions with the Fiji Roads Authority, with plans to begin repairs when weather permits.

Overall, there’s reason for optimism as authorities are addressing the issues and committed to restoring better conditions for all users.
