Suva Blues achieved a remarkable victory at the 2025 Hot Bread Kitchen Easter Volleyball Championship, emerging as champions by defeating Raiwai One in straight sets with scores of 27-25, 29-27, and 25-17. The match, held at the Vodafone Arena, showcased Suva’s exceptional depth and resilience, allowing them to claim the championship title and a prize of $2,000.

The victory is significant for Suva, who previously faced heartbreaks this season, finishing as runners-up in the Vanua Championship and losing in the Vulaca semi-finals. Key players Joji Katia, Peter Sorby, and Tito Mairewa led the team to triumph, demonstrating their skills and determination despite earlier setbacks.

In the semi-finals, Suva displayed their dominance by sweeping Nakasi One with a score of 25-20 and 25-13, which helped them build momentum leading into the championship match.

Notably, similar achievements were seen in other divisions of the sport, reflecting the growing competitiveness of volleyball in Fiji. In a recent women’s volleyball final, the Suva Blue team also defended their title, showcasing the athleticism and commitment across teams representing the capital. This spirit of competition not only strengthens the community bonds but also inspires the next generation of athletes in the region.

As the sport continues to thrive, these victories highlight a hopeful outlook for future competitions, where teams can foster skills, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among players and fans alike.
