A three-member Tribunal convened today to investigate the suspended Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, over allegations of misbehavior. The Tribunal is led by Justice Anare Tuilevuka, with members including Justice Samuela Qica and Justice Chaitanya Lakshman.
Last week, Pryde communicated to Justice Tuilevuka that he would be unable to attend the Tribunal’s hearings. In his correspondence, he expressed concerns regarding the fairness of the proceedings, emphasizing that he has been denied the necessary means for adequate self-representation in this matter.
The hearing is scheduled to commence at 9 AM.
This investigation underlines the importance of accountability in public office and ensures that allegations are examined thoroughly. As the Tribunal proceeds, it offers an opportunity for transparency and due process, which are crucial for both the integrity of the legal system and the public’s trust in it.
