With the national netball season coming to an end, 20-year-old Susana Rasaubale has been actively pursuing her passion for sports in a different arena. The representative of the Fiji Baby Pearls has taken to volleyball, showcasing her versatility as an athlete.
Over the past two days, Rasaubale has been competing with the Heartland Warriors at the Rooster Chicken End-of-Year Volleyball Festival held at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva. The young athlete believes that staying competitive during the offseason is essential for maintaining her fitness levels in preparation for next year’s national obligations, even if it entails engaging in a different sport.
Rasaubale expressed her philosophy about offseason training, stating, “We have periods for netball, and since this is offseason, I decided to take up volleyball to keep me fit.” She has been involved in volleyball for nearly four years and has developed a significant interest in the game.
In September, Rasaubale was part of the Fiji Baby Pearls squad that competed in the Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar. With a keen focus on staying in peak condition, she eagerly anticipates potential national call-ups in the coming year. Rasaubale’s commitment to maintaining her athleticism and versatility serves as an inspiring example for aspiring athletes, highlighting the importance of dedication and adaptability in sports.
