The Coalition Government is actively collaborating with essential stakeholders to provide support to residents in River Road, Narere, and Sawani in Naitasiri, who have been affected by the recent flooding and landslide.
Sakiasi, the Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, visited affected families yesterday to explore solutions that the Government can implement to help them recover. He expressed his appreciation for the families’ resilience during this challenging time.
The Minister stated, “We will be working with the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant stakeholders of Government. Going forward, we will see what we can do to address the problem of flooding.” He acknowledged that while addressing the issue will require a long-term strategy, immediate support measures will be put in place.
Minister Ditoka was accompanied by key officials, including the Permanent Secretary for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management, Isoa Talemaibua, Commissioner Central Division Josefa Navuku, and representatives from other essential government agencies in the Central Division.
