The Ministry of Finance has made significant strides in supporting families, with approximately $42.9 million disbursed to 212,017 students for the 2025 Back to School Support program. This initiative is designed to alleviate the financial burden on families by assisting with various school-related expenses, thereby ensuring that students have the resources they need for a successful academic year.

Despite this progress, challenges remain, as some parents have not yet received their first payment. Reasons for these delays include issues related to incorrect or unregistered mobile numbers, discrepancies in birth registration details, incomplete application forms, and pending Year 13 enrolment. In light of these complications, the Ministry of Finance is actively working in partnership with the Ministry of Education to rectify these problems.

To address the concerns of those affected, the Ministry has already processed four additional payment batches, with plans for a final batch to be distributed once all remaining applications are fully processed. This proactive approach reflects the commitment of the government to ensure that no family is left behind, and it reiterates the importance of providing educational support to foster a bright future for all students.

Overall, the efforts of the Ministry to overcome these challenges not only demonstrate a commitment to education but also a dedication to supporting families during crucial times. As additional payments are processed, there is hope that all eligible students will receive the support they need.
