Two men accused of breaking into the Alison Supermarket at Laucala Beach early Monday morning are scheduled to appear in the High Court in Suva next Friday. Leone Lesumailepanoni, aged 43, and Sosiveta Raura, aged 51, were presented before Magistrate Charles Ratakele on charges of armed robbery, facing four counts each.

The allegations indicate that the two men, accompanied by a third suspect who was later released by police, entered the supermarket armed with cane knives. They allegedly threatened the cashier, demanding the cash from the register.

Magistrate Ratakele has ordered that both men remain in custody until their appearance in court next week.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about retail safety and crime in community spaces, which authorities are taking seriously as they work to ensure public safety. The situation underlines the need for robust law enforcement measures and community vigilance against such acts.

As the case unfolds, it is hoped that justice will be served, thereby reinforcing community trust in the legal system and deterring similar crimes in the future.
