Two of the three individuals accused of breaking into Alison Supermarket in Laucala Beach early Monday are scheduled to appear in the High Court in Suva next Friday. Leone Lesumailepanoni, 43, and Sosiveta Raura, 51, faced Magistrate Charles Ratakele yesterday, both charged with four counts of robbery.
The allegations state that the two men and a third accomplice entered the supermarket armed with cane knives, threatening the cashier to hand over cash from the till. Following the investigation, the police released the third suspected accomplice.
Magistrate Ratakele has ordered that the two men remain in custody until their upcoming court appearance.
This incident raises important issues about community safety and the enforcement of law and order. It’s crucial for local authorities to ensure the safety of businesses and residents alike. Meanwhile, the legal process will have to take its course, with the hope that justice will be served effectively.
