Many people celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad yesterday through various activities and prayers at homes and mosques, while others took advantage of the public holiday to enjoy picnics at various locations across the country. The sunny and breezy weather provided an ideal backdrop for family outings.
One of the groups enjoying the day was the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church, which began its day with a service followed by team-building activities that included a potluck lunch and games. Arveena Kumar, the wife of the church’s senior pastor, Suresh Kumar, highlighted the engaging atmosphere: “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get together. We had a good lunch and participated in games like spoon races, apple and bun eating contests, duck and wheelbarrow races, touch rugby, and swimming.”
At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, also enjoyed their day out. Family member Kibae expressed that the picnic was a perfect escape from the rigors of school and work. Fifteen-year-old Caleb Ueanimaraki noted the relaxing nature of the trip, stating, “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing before we get back to school.”
