Four students were referred to the police after they were reportedly caught smoking marijuana at an athletic facility. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, urged parents to engage in ongoing discussions with their children about the pitfalls of using illegal drugs.

ACP Driu explained that the students were discovered with smoking devices in a restroom and were subsequently reported to the venue’s security before the police were notified. “The students’ parents were informed, and the students received counseling regarding the implications of their actions. The Fiji Police Force is urging parents and guardians to consistently guide their children, as they navigate through formative stages of their lives,” he stated.

He emphasized that without regular guidance, children might seek advice from sources lacking genuine concern for their well-being, potentially leading them astray.
