Police have arrested and charged two 16-year-old students for allegedly possessing drugs last week. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu confirmed that the drugs were found at the students’ schools. One of the students attends a school in Suva, while the other is enrolled in a school in Sigatoka. Mr. Driu emphasized that drug offenses are considered serious and irreconcilable, stating that anyone caught engaging in such activities will be prosecuted and that reports will be taken seriously. He also highlighted the importance of increased parental support in preventing drug use among youth.

Additionally, a 65-year-old woman has been charged and appeared in court after being found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana on September 15. Mr. Driu indicated that the drugs were discovered during a raid at the woman’s home in Lautoka.
