Weather Report
Issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025
Hold onto your hats, folks—literally! A STRONG WIND WARNING is blowing through the land areas of Lau and Lomaiviti Group, Kadavu and their little companions, Taveuni and its workers, Yasawa, the breezy spots along Rakiraki, Udu Point, and Southern Bua. So, if you see any umbrellas flying by, just know it’s not just your imagination!
What’s Bringing all this Wind? A high-pressure system to our south is playing director, sending a strong southeasterly wind flow across the islands. Think of it as nature’s way of giving us a wind tunnel experience, but without the indoor bungee jumping and a questionable safety helmet.
Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group: Expect southeast winds howling at speeds of up to 45 km/hr in Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, Taveuni, Yasawa, and our coastal pals Rakiraki, Udu Point, and Southern Bua. Elsewhere, we’re looking at moderate to fresh southeast winds with a sprinkle of gustiness—like nature’s own version of a surprise party!
Seas are feeling a bit rough, so if you were planning to take a leisurely swim, you might want to reconsider and instead cozy up with a cup of hot cocoa. Cloudy with some showers will be the theme over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and also those islands that we keep forgetting the names of. Most other areas are embracing their inner sunbeam with mainly fine conditions. Be prepared for cool nights—great for cuddling under a blanket or figuring out if you really need a second pair of socks.
What about Friday, you ask? Well, it’s going to be a repeat performance: those strong southeast winds up to 45 km/hr and continuation of cloudy periods with some rebellious showers in the same regions as before. The same cool nights are here to stay, so keep that hot chocolate on standby.
For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Cloudy periods with showers, staying cool at night. Just another day in paradise!
