Weather Update

Greetings, weather enthusiasts! Grab your windbreakers and hold onto your hats, because it’s a blustery time in our neck of the woods!

Across the coastal areas of southeastern Viti Levu — think Sigatoka, Navua, and Suva (you know, the part of Viti Levu that everyone wants to be in) all the way up to Rakiraki, along with Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu, and the Yasawa islands — a strong wind warning is still waving at us like a hyperactive flag. If you plan to head out, those southeast winds are going to be gusty, reaching up to 45 km/hr, and when they gust, they put the “whoosh” in “whoosh” reaching up to 60 km/hr! You might want to avoid any kite-flying adventures for now.

The ocean? Let’s just say it’s feeling a bit rough around the edges. Put on your motion-sickness bands if you must go out, and prepare for some occasional showers that will graciously take it down a notch tomorrow. Tonight’s forecast? Zippy winds and cool vibes.

For the rest of Fiji, the weather is looking mostly fine. It seems like the sun got an extra cup of coffee and is ready to shine. Mostly clear skies mean you can leave your umbrella at home. But don’t forget a sweater for those cooler evenings—nobody likes a shivering islander!

On Friday, keep your eyes peeled as cloud cover is expected to slide in, bringing brief showers for areas like Serua-Namosi and Navua-Suva-Nausori, but don’t fret too much – elsewhere, the sun will still be working its magic!

Now, let’s give specific towns a shout out:

– Navua / Suva / Nausori: Set your sails for southeast winds (up to 45 km/hr with those formidable gusts) and occasional showers—just enough to keep your hair looking wild but not too stormy to spoil a beach day.

– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Looks like the sun is shining brighter than your cousin’s boastful vacation stories—mainly fine over here!

– Coral Coast/Sigatoka: Those winds are gonna pick up again, but the rain might take pity on you tomorrow and mellow out. Just remember: cool at night.

– Rakiraki: A bit windy, a bit showery, but mainly fine other than that loud breeze playing the soundtrack to your evening.

– Yasawa/Mamanuca: Those gusts won’t forget you, but showers should ease up tomorrow, leaving plenty of time for relaxation by the sea.

– For Rotuma: Hold tight! That strong wind’s giving you a run for your money. Brief showers ahead!

So buckle up, Fijians! It’s a windy ride, but don’t forget to enjoy the beauty of these tropical gusts. And as they say, “If you can’t beat the wind, enjoy the ride!”
