Breaking Weather Update

Hey there, weather aficionados! It’s Thursday, June 26, 2025, and we’ve got some wind so strong it might just blow your socks off—literally! A strong wind warning is in effect for our coastal buddies in Beqa, Vatulele, Qelelevu, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups. Hold onto your hats (and everything else), folks!

The current weather situation has a southeasterly wind blowing through the group with enough force to make even the toughest palm trees sway. Here’s what you can expect until the clock strikes midnight tomorrow across various regions:

For our fabulous coastal areas of Beqa, Vatulele, Qelelevu, Lau, and Lomaiviti Groups:
Southeast winds are flexing their muscles, reaching 45 km/hr and gusting up to a thrilling 60 km/hr—just enough to ruffle the feathers of any seagull in the area. The good news? The winds will ease up a bit later today. However, brace yourselves for some rough seas, cloudy moments, and the occasional shower. Nighttime? Think cool and comfortable, like slipping into your favorite pajamas after a long day.

For the interior and southeastern coastal areas of Viti Levu (from Serua/Namosi to Suva and Korovou), Kadavu, and parts of Vanua Levu:
We’re looking at cloudy times, some pesky showers, but don’t worry, they’re expected to ease off by tomorrow. These areas will also be kissing the cool night air, so don’t forget your blanket!

For the rest of Fiji:
You guys are mostly in the clear, basking in fine weather. Just be prepared for cool nights and moderate southeasterly winds keeping things fresh. Rough seas are still in the forecast, so maybe keep the surfboards at bay.

Now, if you’re curious about Saturday’s outlook:
It looks like we’ll have some cloudy moments with brief showers darting around Navua, Suva, Nausori, Rakiraki, and southern Bua—don’t worry, the sun will eventually make a cameo elsewhere. Temperature-wise, it’ll be a cool night out there, so you might want to snuggle up.

For regional updates:
– In Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect some clouds and the chance of showers. Again, night time is cool and cozy.
– In Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: The sun reigns supreme, but keep the evenings cool and breezy.
– Coral Coast/Sigatoka: Looking fine and dandy during the day, cool at night.
– Tavua/Rakiraki: Mainly fine, but keep an eye out for clouds trying to crash the party on Saturday.
– Yasawa/Mamanuca group: More sunny cheer and cool evenings.
– For Labasa, Savusavu, and Kadavu: It’s a mix of cloudy periods with the occasional showers, followed by cool nights to dream of sunshine.
– And don’t forget Rotuma, where the southeasterly winds are creating a delightful breeze—just a couple of brief showers to keep things interesting.

Fasten your seatbelts, folks! The weather might be unpredictable, but it sure is entertaining. Stay safe and enjoy your cool nights ahead!
