Weather Alert

Attention, folks! We’re dishing out a weather report hotter than a bowl of chili on a summer’s day, direct from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi. Buckle up because it looks like Mother Nature’s decided to throw a wild party, and you’re invited!

Hold on to your hats, Northern Division! Those strong winds won’t just be blowing your hair back—they could also be sweeping you off your feet! We’ve got warnings in effect stretching from Tailevu North to Ra-Rakiraki, and it’s not just the mainland; the Yasawa, Mamanuca, Lau, Lomaiviti groups, and even Kadavu should be bracing themselves for a windy welcome.

But wait, there’s more rain than you can shake an umbrella at! Yep, those heavy rain alerts have now spread their wings to include the Northern Division, Yasawa Group, Lau and Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and parts of the eastern half of Viti Levu. If you’ve got plans involving going outdoors, you might want to consider a cozy day in with a book, because it sounds like a downpour is brewing.

To make matters more interesting, a little something called TD09F is chilling in the northeast, plotting its trajectory southward. This tropical depression is set to unleash its winds and rain upon us—think of it as the weather’s surprise guest who shows up uninvited but makes the party much more exciting (or wet, in this case).

Looking at the forecast leading up to midnight tomorrow: expect some moderate to fresh southeasterly winds dancing through, but don’t be surprised if strong winds start flexing their muscles with gusts up to 65km/hr. Rough seas are also on the agenda, so let’s hope your sea legs are ready!

As for the skies, they’ll be cloudy, with occasional showers taking the stage over Serua-Namosi and other lovely areas. When the curtains rise, be ready for rain—heavy at times—with a chance of squally thunderstorms that could turn into a dramatic performance!

Now, onto Monday—we’re not pulling any punches. The winds will turn up the volume even more, reaching speeds that could knock your flip-flops off! Rain? You bet! It might just rain cats and dogs—hopefully no frogs this time.

First up, Navua/Suva/Nausori: expect those southeasterly winds to give you a gentle nudge, while showers crash the party like enthusiastic guests.

In Nadi/Lautoka/Ba areas: aside from a few afternoon scenes of sunlight, prepare for rain that might just get a bit heavy, proving that our skies have got plenty of water to share!

The Yasawa/Mamanuca group isn’t missing out either; they’ll have their fair share of wind and showers, reminding everyone that staying dry is a full-time job.

Meanwhile, Labasa and Savusavu will be embracing southeasterly winds with showers and thunderstorms. Let’s hope you have a raincoat handy!

Over in lovely Rotuma, expect a rough sea with high winds and some rain that promises to keep the fishermen on their toes.

So grab your umbrellas, secure those hats, and maybe hold off on that picnic for now! The weather isn’t just changing; it’s going through a complete makeover, and we’re here for the show! Stay safe out there, and remember, if it starts raining cats and dogs, just grab a leash!
