Strides for Strength Walkathon Champions Respect and Inclusion

Queen Victoria School recently hosted its Strides for Strength Walkathon, an impactful event that united students, alumni, families, and supporters under a powerful message: violence has no place in our society.

The walk encouraged men and boys to proactively address abusive behaviors, promote respect, and support efforts aimed at creating safer homes and communities. It emphasized the importance of positive masculinity, responsible parenting, and the simple yet vital actions that can help prevent violence against women and girls.

Inclusivity was central to the event, with participants dedicating their walk to individuals living with disabilities. This initiative also echoed the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, highlighting the significance of community engagement in addressing these critical issues.

Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Sashi Kiran, officiated the walk and commended both the school and its alumni for leveraging this platform to foster awareness, advocate for safety, and promote disability inclusion.

This event not only bolstered community ties but also reinforced the commitment to creating a society where everyone feels safe and valued, marking a step towards lasting change in cultural attitudes towards violence and inclusivity.
