At the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Tonga, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka highlighted the importance of enhancing collaboration on the implementation of the Samoa Agreement’s institutional arrangements, signifying a notable advancement in European Union (EU) cooperation with the Pacific region.
During the Pacific Members of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific (PACP) Leaders Dialogue, Rabuka stressed the vital role of the EU as a key partner in both bilateral and regional development efforts. He noted that Fiji had recently held its inaugural EU Partnership Dialogue in April, under the Samoa Agreement, and acknowledged the valuable support provided by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat to the Pacific ACP members.
