The Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF) has taken action to assist the 40 passengers stranded on the Lomaiviti Princess 11 vessel. The situation arose after the vessel ran aground on a reef, as indicated in a video shared on Facebook. MSAF CEO Joeli Cawaki confirmed that a rescue ship has been dispatched to help both the passengers and the stranded vessel. “Currently, the new shipping boat is attempting to pull them out,” Mr. Cawaki stated. He added that if this effort fails, passengers will be transferred to the Saint Mary, which will then take them to Levuka.
