A previously issued heavy rain warning for certain regions of Fiji, including Viti Levu, has been updated to a heavy rain alert. Nevertheless, a heavy rain warning continues to be applicable for the Northern division and the Northern Lau group.

According to the Nadi weather office’s 10:30 AM bulletin, an active trough of low pressure, accompanied by clouds and rain, is currently slowly moving over the northeastern regions of Fiji. This weather pattern is expected to persist until Monday. The Fiji Meteorological Service has also indicated that another trough of low pressure is forecasted to begin affecting the area starting tomorrow, with rain expected to develop from the northwest later on Sunday.

In summary, while some areas in Fiji are experiencing a lessening of heavy rain warnings, others continue to face weather challenges that could impact daily life. As the situation develops, it’s essential for residents to stay informed and prepared.

Although heavy rains can pose challenges, the gradual transition to a heavy rain alert suggests that conditions may be improving, bringing a hopeful outlook for those affected. Safety remains a priority, and communities can look forward to clear communication from meteorologists as the weather evolves.
