Stitching Hope: Fiji’s Clothes for Good backs Homes of Hope

Clothes for Good, Fiji’s pioneering not-for-profit pre-loved clothing store, has recently made a meaningful contribution to Homes of Hope, donating $2,000 in cash and around 800 pieces of clothing. This generous gesture aims to support the organization in its ongoing efforts to assist young women and girls in need, especially those who have faced sexual exploitation, trauma, or violence.

Founded by Hayden Ostrom Brown, Clothes for Good operates in Nabua and Lami, with a unique business model where 100% of profits are reinvested back into local communities and charitable causes across Fiji. Ostrom expresses pride in partnering with Homes of Hope, emphasizing that every purchase made in their stores helps to raise vital funds for Fijian organizations that require support.

Salote Sekinairai, Team Leader at Homes of Hope, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, describing it as a gesture that transcends material aid. “Clothes for Good’s support is more than a donation; it is a tangible expression of care, dignity, and restoration,” Sekinairai remarked. Such contributions help young women and girls recognize their worth and embark on a transformative journey towards healing and freedom.

This partnership embodies a shared commitment to empowerment, dignity, and the restoration of community for vulnerable women and girls throughout Fiji. The hope is that such initiatives will inspire other businesses to join in providing necessary resources and support, enabling organizations like Homes of Hope to continue their critical work in helping those affected by trauma.

Clothes for Good’s efforts reflect a growing trend where businesses leverage their models for social impact, creating a ripple effect of positive change across the region. With ongoing support and collaboration, there is optimism for enhancing the lives of more individuals in Fiji and fostering a stronger sense of community.
